Ingredients on an item
Where to put it. Open the product and fill in the Ingredients field. That is all there is to it.
What members see. An Ingredients tab on that product’s page. Items where the field is empty show no tab at all, so you can fill them in gradually without half your catalogue looking unfinished.
How it reads. If you type a comma-separated list, it comes out as a list. If you write a sentence, it stays a sentence. Write it the way you would say it.
Why it is a separate field and not part of the description. Descriptions on a farm store collect a lot of things over the years — review widgets, formatting, links. Ingredients are the one thing a member with an allergy needs to be able to trust, so they live in their own plain-text field and are never pulled out of the description by guesswork.
