Ordering Deadlines

An ordering deadline for every stop

Customers know exactly how long they have. You know exactly when to start packing.

How do ordering deadlines work?

Each pickup location and delivery zone has its own deadline day and time, weekly, every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks. Until that moment the customer's cart is their order and they can add or remove anything; when it passes, the order locks for packing on its own.

How it works

What actually happens

  • A deadline per stop — Tuesday 9 am for one, Thursday night for another.
  • A banner that counts down — Their stop, their pickup date, and the time left to order.
  • Change it until the deadline — Signed-in members add or remove items; it saves itself.
  • It locks itself — Past the deadline, the order moves to packing - no button to press.
  • A reminder the day before — One email about a day out, worded your way.
  • Holidays handled — Skip a week or move the day; the banner and emails follow.

Why it matters on a real farm

The part this takes off you

A deadline nobody can see is a deadline everybody misses. When it sits on every page and arrives in the inbox the day before, the late texts stop - and the order you pack is the order they meant.

Questions about ordering Deadlines

Can customers change an order after placing it?

Yes, right up to their location's deadline. Whatever is in their cart at that moment is their order, and every change saves itself.

Do customers get a reminder?

Yes - one email about a day before the deadline. You can change the wording, or switch it off.

What about holidays?

Skip a week or move the day for any location. The banner, the deadline and the emails all follow the change.

Can someone order after the deadline?

Only if you want them to. There is an optional "ask to be squeezed in" request that you approve from Packing Day; it is off unless you turn it on.
